Wirral Athletic Club has been established since 1911 and is now the largest athletic club on the Wirral peninsula with a current membership of just over 400. The Wirral lies between the River Mersey and the River Dee in the North West of England. The club is based at the Oval Sports Centre in Bebington, which has an eight lane all-weather track with supporting facilities. Our club rooms are based within the Oval Sports Centre.

Northern Cross Country
Best performance of the day for the club at the Northern Cross Country Championships came from Hanna Tarver with 4th in the U20 Womens race. A big well done to everyone who competed.

Nutrition in Sport
Wirral AC are pleased to announce that Derek Mountfield, former Tranmere Rovers, Everton and Aston Villa professional footballer will be giving a talk and Question/Answering session on Nutrition in sport. The event will be take place at Wirral AC Clubhouse on Monday 23rd January 2012, starting at 7:45p.m.

Merseyside Cross Country Champs
Club members won 39 medals at the Merseyside Cross Country Championships last Saturday as well as the U13 Girls and U15 Boys team titles.  The full results are on the Northern Athletics Here.

Liverpool & District Cross Country
The Seniors finished second overall in the Liverpool & District Cross Country League after finishing third in the last race.  The results can be found Here.

Manchester Cross Country Results
Manchester Cross Country meeting at Wythenshawe.

"Overall, we had a good day, individually and teamwise. Unfortunately, we didn't have any entries for the u/11 girls and only 2 in the u/13 girls, however the u/11 boys had 4 in the first 10 and have maintained 1st team place. You can see the results yourselves but they all ran well in difficult conditions, in all age groups, and we need to maintain it in the new year" GRAHAM.

A big well done to the team who finished third behind Liverpool Harriers and Southport Waterloo. This puts Wirral in second place overall with one race go.
